Why We Should Rethink New Year’s Resolutions
My family often goes to Gurdwara (a Sikh Temple) on New Year’s Eve. It feels like a clean, wholesome way to acknowledge and show appreciation for the gifts in the year that is coming to an end and a perfect time to put positive thoughts and intentions in to the New Year.
Last night, our priest gave some wonderful advice. He suggested making week or month long resolutions rather than year long resolutions. This made a lot of sense to me. After one year, I rarely remember my resolution much less maintain it.
My ‘New Month’ Resolution
Going forward, I would like to share my monthly resolutions with you.
Typically, a work out for me consists of weights, body weight, stretching and maybe some cardio. I need to find a fun way of incorporating more cardio, or I just won’t do it. A lot of this hesitation comes from my previous experiences with limited ability to exercise since I was a child.
January Resolution: Try Peloton App. The Peloton holiday commercial was perhaps one of the most controversial commercials of 2019. The price of the bike and subscription does seem unattainable for most. The Peloton App is currently providing 1 month free trial and then monthly subscription after that. I downloaded the app and am pretty excited about all the available classes.
At the end of January I’ll share with you how it worked for me and share my new February resolution.
Let’s share!
I would love to hear from you! Share your resolutions or experience with the Peloton App by leaving a comment or emailing me at [email protected]
